Changes in jewelry industry legislation: what's new?

According to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to support the jewelry manufacturing industry" (№ RP-207 from 26.06.2025) from 1 September 2025:
- individual entrepreneurs are permitted to engage in the sale of jewellery;
- The State Assay Control Inspectorate in the cities of Tashkent and Nukus, as well as in regional centers, is introducing the practice of providing on-site services for testing and hallmarking jewelry;
- persons who report a violation of the legislation on precious metals and precious stones via the "Soliq" mobile application will be paid a bonus in the amount of 50 percent of the collected fine.
